How to perfect the perfect party curls of the sleekest straight style

Classic Ribbon Curls

Just imagine curling ribbon with scissors for this classic technique that creates beautiful curls. Start with a 1" x 1" section of hair and clamp the ghd styler gently near the scalp. Keeping the plates gently closed, turn the styler 1/2 turn and slowly glide down to the ends of the hair and release. For a looser curl, take a larger section and/or glide the styler a little faster through the hair. Curls never looked so good!

The Perfect Straight

Starting at the bottom and working your way up the head, take a 1/2" x 3" section of hair. Make sure the heater plates are parallel to the section before closing down gently on the hair. Slowly glide the ghd styler from scalp to ends and witness the transformation of your hair to a silky smooth and perfectly straight style.

Three Holiday Looks Made Easy

Guest blogger: Lorenzo Calderon from Warren Tricomi LA

Three holiday looks are real simple this season

1. Since you'll be running around with scarves and turtle necks during the winter.  You'll need a great sexy playful ponytail   First build some great wavy texture with your GHD   Styler.  Then place your loose ponytail at the occipital of your head.  You don't want it to be to high or to low.   Just right in the middle.   Then take a small piece of hair and wrap around the base to hide your elastic

2. For your holiday parties your gonna want a more sexy look.   So just curl your hair with your  GHD styler. And Finish with a medium hairspray  such as L'Oreal Infinium 3

3.  And always know that a classic clean blowout is great for all year round.  Here at Warren Tricomi LA we use a light blow out serum and a mason Pearson brush   To give the hair a smooth polish and shine   And great movement.

The best hairstyle for Thanksgiving

How you style your hair for the Thanksgiving holiday is really a matter of preference. For some a casual, yet classic look may suite the day best and for others something chic and sophisticated may be more appropriate. Here is a super easy way to get either look or both from a simple ponytail.

Start by smoothing and straightening 2 inches of hair just around your hairline with a ghd styler. Pull all of your hair straight back and secure loosely in a ponytail. Using a firm holding styling gel, creme or wax, (my favorite is ghd Precision Wax) apply generously to the top, sides and ponytail. Use the palms of your hands to smooth the hair flat to the head, now pull the hair into a tight ponytail that sits just below the occipital bone of the head and secure tightly with a covered elastic band. This look will give you the casual feel of a ponytail together with a classic sculpted style.

Now if you desire something more chic and sophisticated, simply twist the ponytail clockwise until tight like a rope and then wrap tightly around the base of the ponytail. Continue wrapping until the entire ponytail is wrapped around the base into a chignon, adjust with fingers and secure with bobby pins.

You asked…ghd answers!

ghd experts answer your biggest hair worries

1. Do all ghd stylers work the same?
YES, our advanced ceramic and digital technology is featured in all ghd stylers to provide the most sophisticated styling iron available.

Features include:
·       Advanced ceramic heaters for the ultimate shine
·       Automatic temperature control for the perfect temperature on all hair types
·       Universal voltage so you'll always have beautiful hair no matter where you travel
·       Sleep mode which turns off heaters after 30 minutes for safety and peace of mind

2. What is the best hairspray for hold?

Celebrities, fashionistas and editorial stylists all agree that ghd Ultimate Hairspray is the best of the best! This quick-drying fine mist aerosol spray provides a firm and long-lasting hold to the hair, even in humid conditions. Adds shine and gloss to the hair without overburdening. Contains UVA protection.

3. How do I prevent dry and brittle hair from heaters inside the home?
I always recommend a daily leave-in conditioner during the winter months to eliminate static and provide the hair with extra moisture to prevent dry, brittle ends.

Try ghd Miracle Mist, which is a very light, leave-in conditioning spray for all hair types. It contains a blend of cationic conditioning agents which promote body and shine, manageability, condition and smoothness for shinier, stronger, static-free hair. Also helps reduce split ends and contains UVA protection.

Dreadlocks: hairstyle to try for Halloween weekend

Dreadlocks in 4 easy steps:

So you want to dress as your favorite Rastafarian, Rockstar or Zombie this Halloween but don't have 2 years to spare without brushing your hair? Here is how you get the look.

1. Start by taking a 2"x 2" section of hair and twisting clockwise from scalp to ends until the hair is twisted like a rope.

2. Now take your ghd styler and clamp the twisted hair between the plates for a few seconds, working your way all the way down the strand. The heat from the ghd styler will keep the hair in a twisted form.

3. Now with your thumb and index finger, pinch the hair lightly and push back towards the head along the twisted section, making the hair slightly frizzy.

4. Repeat this process until the entire head is complete and you have a full head of authentic looking dreadlocks!!  Oh yeah, and it all washed out easily with warm water and conditioner, have fun!

Weathering the Fall Season

How do you maintain your fall hairstyle in cold and rainy weather?

ghd's U.S. Artistic Ambassador Andy Bodine has the answer.

Cold and rainy weather can easily create a real mess of your hairstyle just as hot and humid weather can. Protecting your hair from absorbing external moisture is the key to eliminating frizziness and maintaining your hairstyle throughout the day.

The easy remedy for this is by using a
ghd styler to style your hair! All the stylers in the ghd styler collection have extremely high quality ceramic heaters which emit negative ions that seals the hair cuticle smooth, locking in the hairs natural moisture and locking out humidity! The ghd styler also locks in hair color, creates shine, eliminates static and provides a frizz-free, long-lasting style!

So don't let the cold and rainy weather give you the hair blues, fight back with the
ghd styler, you can do anything with your hair!
